I try to translate this into English, but it's a bit hard this time since it involves lyrics in Swedish:

A special moment

I will remember yesterday for a special moment.

Anna and I sat with Philip and Oscar in our arms in the ICU room; Oscar was nursing and I fed Philip through his tube. It was also time for Elin's food.

A nurse assistant who temporarily looked to our children, then the ordinary was on break, come to feed Elin. But rather than just go to her place and give a milliliter now and then during twenty minutes, she took the time to pick up Elin in her arms, sitting in a chair and feed her. After a while she began to hum for Elin to get her to really relax and cuddle.

The song she hummed the made me start to think and realize that I am really going to enjoy the moments and take in how beautiful life really is if I just take it in right now. She sang at Gabriella's song (link to the song on YouTube) from the film As it is in heaven (original sung by Helen Sjöholm, lyrics by Py Bäckman, music by Stefan Nilsson ). I had tears in my eyes of all emotions, and it gets me even as I write about it, and if I try to sing it for the babies herself.

I'll really take this to me.

It is now that my life is mine
I have been given some time here on earth
and my longing has brought me here
what I missed and what I got

I want to feel that I'm alive
all the time I have
I will live as I want
I want to feel that I'm alive
know that I'm enough

Additionally, it feels amazing that there was time for a nurse to give Elin the cosy moment she got. Thanks for that! :-)

We found the song in English on YouTube, still sung by Helen Sjöholm. For those of you who live in the areas of the US where many Swedes immigrated to (Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan...), you may have heard of Helen. She sings the lead in the ABBA Björn and Benny's musical "Kristina", that has toured that part of the US a few times.

Well done Johan!
